Centaurus Metals (ASX:CTM) received approval to connect its Brazilian nickel project to a national 230kV power grid.
The approval secures an initial allocation of 20MW of power for the ongoing project development.
"Securing access to Brazil's high-voltage power grid is an important milestone," said Centaurus Metals Managing Director Darren Gordon.
The company will lodge a $2.7 million guarantee within 90 days to maintain this power allocation.
Following the announcement, the Centaurus Metals share price was unchanged at $0.455.
Centaurus stated that the connection is expected to position the project in the bottom cost quartile.
The company previously signed a binding five-year nickel offtake agreement worth about $450 million with Glencore.
