Cazaly Resources (ASX:CAZ) commenced a 3,000-metre aircore drilling programme at its Hastings gold prospect in Western Australia.

The programme follows a historical intercept of 38m at 3.1 grammes per tonne of gold at the project.

"Hastings is a compelling target with high-grade historical intercepts beneath shallow cover," said Cazaly Resources Managing Director Tara French.

The company stated that assay results from the 2.6-kilometre strike corridor are expected late in the September quarter.

Following the announcement, the Cazaly Resources share price was unchanged at $0.019.

The asset is located 6km north of the Aphrodite gold deposit within the Bardoc Tectonic Zone.

Cazaly recently secured a joint venture option to earn up to an 80% interest in the project.
