CATL HK signs major battery recycling pact with Livium

Share

CATL HK, a subsidiary of the world's largest lithium-ion battery manufacturer, formalised its domestic supply chain by executing a landmark recycling services framework agreement with Envirostream, a wholly owned subsidiary of Livium (ASX:LIT).

The pact cements an existing transactional relationship, moving the companies from a standard purchase order setup to a structured, long-term operational framework.

Running through to May 15, 2029, the agreement tasks Envirostream with managing battery collection, transport logistics, recycling, and regulatory compliance reporting across Australia, with future provisions to scale operations into New Zealand.

The partnership aligns with the extensive deployment of CATL products within grid-scale battery storage installations across the country, securing a vital circular pathway for end-of-life battery management.

While the contract dictates the governing terms for future operations, it remains non-exclusive and contains no minimum volume commitments or fixed pricing models.

Instead, specific projects will continue to be executed via individual purchase orders, providing both entities with commercial flexibility as regional volumes grow.
