Key points

  • Brightstar Resources has started a seven-hole, 6,500-metre deep diamond drilling programme at the Two Mile Hill-Shillington deposit.
  • The drilling campaign targets the Shirvington Zone to extend mineralisation beneath the existing 1.45-million-ounce resource.
  • Assays for three previous holes remain pending, with an updated resource estimate and pre-feasibility study planned for completion this quarter.

Brightstar Resources (ASX:BTR) has commenced a seven-hole, 6,500-metre deep extensional diamond drilling programme at its Two Mile Hill-Shillington deposit within the 3.6-million-ounce Sandstone Gold Project.

The new exploration effort follows drill hole TMHDD26003, which previously intersected 305m at 1.33 grammes per tonne of gold from a depth of 584m.

The first deep hole confirmed the tonalite stays mineralised below the Mineral Resource at grades consistent with the model. This programme is designed to test continuity and define the edges of the host tonalite at depth,” said Brightstar Resources Managing Director Alex Rovira.

A second diamond drilling rig is scheduled to arrive on site in the coming days to assist in targeting the undefined western contact of the tonalite structure, which currently measures over 400m in width.

Following the announcement, the Brightstar Resources share price was unchanged at $0.60.

Assay results for holes TMHDD26004, TMHDD26005, and TMHDD26006 are scheduled for release in November.

All incoming drilling data will feed into an updated mineral resource estimate and the Sandstone Pre-Feasibility Study, both expected later this quarter.
