Brazilian Rare Earths names new CFO

Brazilian Rare Earths (ASX:BRE) has appointed John Vander Ploeg as CFO, effective immediately.

Vander Ploeg brings over 20 years of finance leadership experience across listed-company reporting, complex corporate transactions, technical accounting, and cross-border integration.

He previously held senior finance positions at Arcadium Lithium, where he oversaw key accounting and reporting workstreams for the US$10 billion merger with Livent, including the SEC registration statement and the Australian Scheme of Arrangement.

Vander Ploeg has also served in technical accounting and finance integration roles at Google, advising on IFRS and US GAAP transactions, as well as multi-jurisdiction finance integrations.

Earlier in his career, he was a director at PwC in Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services, supporting clients on equity, debt, and M&A transactions, including SEC filings and periodic reporting.
