BrainChip partners with ASICLAND for AI licensing
Sydney-based BrainChip (ASX:BRN) entered into a non-exclusive IP distribution licence agreement with ASICLAND, a semiconductor solutions provider headquartered in South Korea.
BrainChip's latest partnership aims to broaden the reach of its pioneering Akida neural processing technology.
Under the terms of this worldwide agreement, ASICLAND is now authorised to integrate BrainChip’s Akida IP into sophisticated system-on-chip designs for a diverse range of end customers, pending individual licensing approvals.
This collaboration provides ASICLAND with the flexibility to obtain multiple evaluation licenses, including participation in multi-project wafer fabrication runs.
The provisions allow customers to rigorously prototype, test, and demonstrate chips before committing to full-scale commercial deployment.
For those ready to go to market, these evaluation licenses can be converted into production licenses upon BrainChip’s approval and the payment of additional fees.
To ensure seamless integration, BrainChip will provide ASICLAND with comprehensive access to the Akida IP, runtime software, and optimised AI models.
While BrainChip maintains full ownership of its intellectual property, the deal underscores a shared commitment to advancing AI hardware capabilities.
At the time of reporting, BrainChip’s share price was $0.16.
