BrainChip (ASX:BRN) has secured a global, non-exclusive licensing agreement with EDGEAI for its Akida 2 neuromorphic intellectual property.

The comprehensive deal grants EDGEAI full access to the Akida IP suite, including integration documentation, software components, and dedicated engineering support.

The financial structure of the partnership relies on milestone-based payments linked to technical deliveries, with quarterly royalties set to commence once EDGEAI begins commercial shipments.

While BrainChip noted it cannot yet quantify the exact financial impact, it anticipates that royalties will become material as product volumes scale.

BrainChip reported a 374% surge in revenue to US$1.9 million, while narrowing its net loss to US$20.5 million.

The company is currently tracking toward major technical hurdles, with the AKD1500 moving into volume production and prototype silicon for the next-generation AKD2500 expected in Q3 2026.

To support the capital-intensive developments, BrainChip bolstered its balance sheet through a $37 million equity raise in late 2025, ending the year with US$31.7 million in cash.

At the time of reporting, BrainChip's share price was $0.14.
