BPH Global (ASX:BP8) dispatched its first direct commercial seaweed shipment to China from Makassar on June 29.
This development follows regulatory approval from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China under a bilateral arrangement.
"The successful despatch of our first shipment demonstrates that the trading platform we have established in Indonesia is now capable of supplying customers directly into one of the world's largest seaweed markets," said BPH Global Managing Director Matthew Leonard.
The shipment was sent under an existing purchase order and is expected to arrive in China on July 10.
Following the announcement, the BPH Global share price was unchanged at $0.001.
The company stated that direct sales into China are expected to improve its realised selling prices and trading margins.
The move builds on the broader strategy of the business to expand its plant-based biotechnology operations across the Asia-Pacific region.
