Boss Energy (ASX:BOE) announced a upgrade to the mineral resource estimates at its Gould's Dam and Jason's satellite deposits, marking a pivotal step in the company’s strategy to scale up production in South Australia.
The announcement, which underscores the growing potential of the region's uranium provinces, reveals a substantial increase in contained metal across both sites as technical teams apply updated geological modelling derived from the flagship Honeymoon operation.
At the Gould's Dam deposit, the revised figures show a resource of 38.7 million tonnes graded at 388ppm U3O8, representing 33.1 million pounds of uranium.
The update constitutes a 30% surge in contained metal compared to the previous assessment conducted in 2016.
Jason's deposit has seen its inventory rise to 13.3 million tonnes at 410ppm U3O8 for 12 million pounds of uranium, a 9% improvement over 2017 estimates.
Managing Director Matthew Dusci noted that these advancements are the direct result of recent drilling success and a more sophisticated understanding of the local mineralisation trends.
Looking ahead, the company is preparing for an intensive diamond and rotary mud drilling program scheduled for later this year to further delineate resource boundaries.
The technical work will underpin the commencement of state and federal permitting processes slated for the second half of 2026.
Boss Energy anticipates that securing a formal mining lease may require an 18 to 24-month window, with subsequent environmental approvals necessary before the transition to full-scale development can begin.
