BHP Group (ASX:BHP) announced the appointment of Brandon Craig as its next CEO, effective July 1.

Craig, a veteran leader with over 25 years of operational and corporate experience within the company, will succeed Mike Henry, who concludes a six-and-a-half-year tenure in the top job.

Currently serving as President Americas, Craig has been instrumental in overseeing growth across Canada, the United States, and South America.

BHP Chairman Ross McEwan expressed strong confidence in the appointment, noting that Craig's discipline and focus are expected to bolster the firm’s high-performance culture and advance its extensive pipeline of growth projects to maximise returns for shareholders.
