Abu Dhabi-based private equity firm Axight has entered into an agreement to acquire a minority stake in the La Trobe Financial Group.

The transaction involves the sale of shares by an entity associated with Brookfield Asset Management, which will remain the majority owner and a long-term partner in the business.

Axight, an investment manager established by the global firm Lunate—which oversees more than US$115 billion in assets—focuses specifically on strategic opportunities across the Asia Pacific.

Despite the shift in ownership structure, the La Trobe Private Credit Fund (ASX:LF1) confirmed that there will be no changes to the directors or senior management of its Responsible Entity or Investment Manager.

The deal is currently pending customary closing conditions and final regulatory approval.
