Avenira begins sampling at Wonarah phosphate project
- Avenira commenced a sampling programme at its Wonarah Phosphate Project in the Northern Territory.
- The programme aims to support pricing and specifications under a four-year, 500,000-tonne annual off-take agreement with Hebang.
- Pre-strip activities are targeted for Q4 2026, ahead of planned direct shipping ore shipments in H1 2027.
Avenira (ASX:AEV) has launched a product qualification sampling programme at its wholly owned Wonarah Phosphate Project in the Northern Territory.
The new drilling campaign builds on a four-year deal covering up to 500,000 tonnes per year of phosphate rock, representing roughly 83% of forecast annual direct shipping ore production.
“Our focus is on converting that resource into a producing business, starting with direct shipping ore and building a customer base to support longer-term growth,” said Avenira CEO John He.
The company plans to commence pre-strip operations in the fourth quarter of 2026, targeting its first shipment during the first half of 2027.
Following the announcement, the Avenira share price was unchanged at $0.007.
Avenira retains the flexibility to pursue additional customers and pricing opportunities outside of its primary commercial arrangement.
The company stated that further sampling will support broader customer engagement and assist in refining commercial product specifications.
