  • Australian Retirement Trust has achieved an average annual return of 10% over the decade ended June 30.
  • The superannuation fund now manages more than $370 billion in retirement savings.
  • The fund deployed $12 billion into private markets over the past year to drive long-term growth.

Australian Retirement Trust generated an average 10% return annually over the 10 years to June 30, driven by strong long-term performance across its investment options.

This decade-long result contrasts with the current financial year, where the fund's high growth accumulation option returned 9.21%.

"Unlisted assets play an important role in delivering more consistent returns over time and reducing overall portfolio risk and have been a key contributor to our long term outperformance," said Australian Retirement Trust Chief Investment Officer Ian Patrick.

The fund deployed an additional $3 billion in domestic real estate and an additional $12 billion locked in for future capital commitments.

The transaction is expected to support the fund's strategy of capturing emerging value as private market valuations adjust.

The superannuation fund is one of the largest in Australia and now manages more than $370 billion in retirement savings for its members.

The business stated that its high-growth investment option ranked as the highest performer in the SuperRating SR Index over the 10 years to May 31.
