Australian Mines proposes rebranding as First Scandium
Key points
- Australian Mines has proposed a corporate name change to First Scandium alongside a new ASX ticker code, FSD.
- The corporate identity shift directly targets the accelerated development of its 100%-owned Flemington Scandium Project in New South Wales.
- The proposed name change and ticker adoption remain subject to formal shareholder approval via a special resolution.
Australian Mines (ASX:AUZ) has proposed changing its corporate name to First Scandium and adopting the ticker FSD to align its identity with its 100%-owned Flemington Scandium Project in New South Wales.
The corporate transition reflects a sharp pivot towards scandium development compared to the company's historical multi-commodity exploration footprint.
"First Scandium clearly communicates where we see the company’s strongest opportunity for long-term growth," said Australian Mines Managing Director Andrew Nesbitt.
The company highlighted that its Flemington asset directly adjoins Sunrise Energy Metals' Syerston Scandium Project and shares the same geological intrusion.
The corporate name change and ticker swap will move forward once shareholders vote on the special resolution.
Following the announcement, the Australian Mines share price was unchanged at $0.12.
The project focus follows recent efforts by the business to fast-track a pre-feasibility study evaluating an expanded output scale.
The company has reserved the name with ASIC and the code FSD with the ASX as it pursues opportunities in the international scandium market.
