Australian Clinical Labs (ASX:ACL) announced it is contacting approximately 280,000 individuals following a cyber incident at its SunDoctors subsidiary.

The announcement follows an initial report on April 30 where an external IT service provider experienced unauthorised access to SunDoctors systems.

An internal investigation confirmed that an unauthorised party accessed the systems and took a small portion of data.

The company stated that the involved data mostly includes basic contact details and health information connected to skin cancer checks.

The company will continue to monitor the situation, and following the announcement, the Australian Clinical Labs share price was down at $2.23.

SunDoctors operates specialised skin cancer clinics across Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, and Victoria.

The parent business provides pathology services across community, hospital, and other diagnostics segments throughout mainland Australia.
