The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries reported that Australian new-vehicle sales reached a record 103,656 units in July.
This delivery volume surpassed the previous July record of 103,097 vehicles set in 2025.

"July was another outstanding month for Australian new-vehicle sales," said Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries CEO Tony Weber.
Battery electric vehicles accounted for 23,510 deliveries, representing 21.7% of all new sales.

Year-to-date electric vehicle sales reached 127,244 units, comprising 17.3 per cent of the total Australian market.
The organisation stated that expanding public charging infrastructure remains essential to support growing electric vehicle demand.
