Austin Metals commences major WA gold drilling programme

Share

Austin Metals (ASX:AYT) commenced a ~4,000-metre reverse circulation drilling programme at its flagship Austin Gold Project, situated near Cue in Western Australia’s prolific Murchison region.

The exploration initiative is designed to rigorously test several newly identified, high-priority gold targets generated from the company's recent extensive exploration and geological targeting campaigns within the project’s Northern Zone.

Initial drilling operations are heavily focused on the Brunswick Hill prospect, where the company aims to test five premier gold targets distributed along a three-kilometre strike of highly prospective banded iron formation stratigraphy.

Following the evaluation at Brunswick Hill, the RC rig will transition to the Mt Sandy prospect.

Exploration there will focus on testing key extensions to previously intersected gold mineralisation, which is characteristically associated with intense quartz-sulphide veining located along a structurally significant, sheared mafic-felsic geological contact zone.
