
Aurizon reports $1.72B in underlying earnings
- Aurizon achieved an underlying EBITDA of $1.72 billion for the 2026 financial year, marking a 9% increase.

Aurizon (ASX:AZJ) delivered a 9% increase in underlying EBITDA to $1.72 billion for the 2026 financial year.
The $1.72 billion underlying earnings result represents an increase from the $1.57 billion recorded in the previous financial year.
Underlying net profit after tax reached $433 million, representing a 24% increase compared to the prior comparable period. Statutory NPAT was $362 million, up 19% compared to FY25.
"FY26 delivered a strong result for shareholders with higher earnings, strong cash generation, a higher dividend and completion of the on-market share buyback," said Aurizon Managing Director & CEO Andrew Harding.
The Aurizon board declared a final dividend of 10.5 cents per share, 90% franked. The business increased total dividends to 23 cents per share and completed a $250 million buyback.
Following the announcement, the Aurizon share price was down at $3.77.
For FY27, group underlying EBITDA is expected to be in the range of $1.73 - $1.78 billion. Full-year dividends are expected to be 23 - 24 cents per share.
Aurizon stated its network division recorded an 8% earnings increase driven by higher regulatory revenue.
The company reported its coal division grew earnings by 2%, supported by price indexation and flat unit costs.
