Aureka commences drilling at St Arnaud Comstock Project

Australia's Aureka (ASX:AKA) has commenced drilling at the St Arnaud Comstock Project's Walkers pit area.

The phase follows economic feasibility studies initiated last December, aiming to accelerate the site's near-term production potential.

The project is already underpinned by a previously mined pit and a maiden JORC resource reported in 2025.

The newly launched six-week campaign comprises approximately 1,000m of diamond drilling across six short holes, each averaging depths under 100m.

The exploration programme serves a dual purpose: validating historical drilling results and increasing data density.

By doing so, the company seeks to elevate confidence levels for sections of the project’s 100% inferred JORC resource, establishing firm grounds to support future production targets and scoping study outcomes.

Historical data highlights substantial high-grade shallow ore potential at Walkers, featuring past intercepts of 100.8g/m and 60.3g/m, alongside a recent surface grab sample grading at 6.04g/t gold.

Furthermore, previous 2025 drilling encountered multiple zones of visible gold, including a standout intercept yielding 65.37g/t gold, complemented by recent silver assays reaching up to 650g/t.

Managing Director James Gurry expressed optimism regarding the development, stating that the team is pleased to see the exciting infill programme underway.
