Atomic Eagle expands Zambian uranium footprint

Share

Atomic Eagle (ASX:AEU) signed a binding option agreement to acquire 100% of the large-scale Sitwe Uranium Project.

Situated in the Luangwa Valley of north-eastern Zambia, this acquisition materially expands the company’s uranium exploration footprint by 429km2 within the prospective Luangwa Valley Karoo Basin.

This addition marks a 38% increase in Atomic Eagle’s total tenement holdings, reinforcing its market position as one of the premier uranium explorers and developers in the region.

The Sitwe Project complements Atomic Eagle's flagship Muntanga Uranium Project and sits on a well-established regional geological trend that includes the Kayelekera uranium deposit in Malawi, underscoring the broader prospectivity of the asset.

Historical drilling at Sitwe North has already yielded highly encouraging results, revealing shallow, high-grade uranium intercepts.

Historical results include 1m at 1,620ppm from 35m and 10m at 247ppm from 29m, indicating robust exploration upside across a largely underexplored licence area that contains multiple untested radiometric anomalies.

Under the terms of the agreement, Atomic Eagle is committed to a US$200,000 expenditure on exploration and statutory requirements, alongside holding the exclusive right to acquire 100% of the licence for US$400,000.

At the time of reporting, Atomic Eagle’s share price was $0.40.
