Amplitude Energy secures crucial domestic gas deals
Australian gas producer Amplitude Energy (ASX:AEL) has solidified its position in the domestic energy sector following a series of major commercial developments directed by the company's executive leadership.
The ASX-listed company has secured long-term stability for its East Coast Supply Project by signing binding multi-year foundation gas sales agreements with major domestic providers, including AGL Energy and EnergyAustralia.
Under these multi-petajoule supply contracts, which are targeted to commence in late 2028, Amplitude will supply crucial gas reserves to Australia's tight southeastern domestic market.
While the producer recently faced a minor exploration setback when flow testing data forced the plugging and abandonment of its Isabella sidetrack well in the offshore Otway Basin, the company's broader exploration programme remains well within budget.
Managing Director and CEO Jane Norman confirmed that the data gathered from the complex Isabella site will actively inform future drilling campaigns scheduled for the latter half of the year.
Backed by extensive offshore fields and onshore processing plants across the Otway and Gippsland Basins, Amplitude Energy continues to navigate regulatory approvals securely.
The company recently secured a critical production licence for its discovered Annie gas field, ensuring a reliable pipeline of domestic energy.
