AMP (ASX:AMP) announced the appointment of Jackie Cleary as its new CFO, finalising the executive leadership team under recently appointed CEO Blair Vernon.

Cleary, who will be based in Sydney and is expected to commence her role on July 20 pending regulatory approvals, brings over 25 years of global financial services experience spanning Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

She most recently served as managing director and head of financial institutions at Jefferies Australia and previously held a managing director role at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York.

In her new capacity, Cleary will oversee all of AMP’s financial activities, including treasury, tax, corporate strategy, and regulatory reporting.

CEO Blair Vernon highlighted her extensive background in capital management as pivotal for optimising the company's balance sheet and driving growth, whilst also thanking Adrian Ryan for his interim stewardship as acting CFO.

Cleary's appointment follows the recent internal placements of Rebecca McDermott as Chief People Officer and Rob Jarrett as COO, alongside the elevation of Tina Cleary’s role as Chief Marketing Officer to the executive team.

At the time of reporting, AMP's share price was $1.60.
