Amazon Australia has named retail general manager Matt Benham as its new country manager, effective February.
He succeeds Janet Menzies, who has led the company for the past five years and was recently appointed technical advisor to Worldwide Amazon Stores CEO Doug Herrington in Seattle.
Benham has been with Amazon since its UK operations in 2017 and played a key role in launching Amazon’s retail business in Australia.
He brings 25 years of experience in general management, sales, and finance across Australia, the UK, Europe, and the US.
"As we look ahead, my focus remains unchanged: delivering for Australian customers, businesses, and communities," Benham said.
"Whether through continued investment in infrastructure and innovation, expanding opportunities for local sellers, or creating quality jobs, we are committed to being a positive force in Australia."
