Uranium explorer Alligator Energy (ASX:AGE) announced a streamlining of its executive tier, appointing current CEO Dr Andrea Marsland-Smith to the additional role of Managing Director, effective immediately.

The leadership transition, aimed at accelerating operational decision-making, coincides with the announced retirement of veteran non-executive director Peter McIntyre after more than twelve years of service to the company. The dual appointment of Dr Marsland-Smith marks a rapid ascent within the organisation; she stepped into the CEO role just nine months ago following a successful tenure as COO.

According to Board Chair Paul Dickson, the consolidation reflects Dr Marsland-Smith’s "exceptional capability" in hitting key strategic milestones across Alligator’s project portfolio.

The board maintains that integrating the CEO and Managing Director functions will foster greater governance efficiency as the company advances its ambitious development plans.

A long-standing shareholder who supported the company through its early capital-raising phases, McIntyre has agreed to delay his formal retirement until the completion of the crucial field recovery trial at the Samphire uranium project.

The phased transition ensures the company retains his technical and corporate counsel through what is considered a pivotal operational milestone.

At the time of reporting, Alligator Energy's share price was $0.039.
