Airtasker settles A$10m media notes in cash
- Airtasker (ASX:ART) has elected to settle A$10 million of media partnership notes with oOh!media and ARN entirely in cash
- The early repayment totals A$10.82 million and cuts about A$300,000 of interest, avoiding share issuance at a 10% VWAP discount
- Airtasker (ASX:ART) says the campaigns lifted brand salience by 38.5% and supported compound annual growth of 17% in Australian GMV and 20% in revenue
Airtasker (ASX:ART) has agreed to early cash settlement of two A$5 million media partnership notes issued to oOh!media (ASX:OML) and ARN Media (ASX:A1N), paying A$5,463,847 to oOh!media and A$5,357,668 to ARN instead of converting the notes and accrued coupons into discounted equity.
The notes, issued in June and July 2024 for two years at a 5.8% coupon, gave Airtasker the choice at or before maturity of repaying in cash or issuing ordinary shares at a 10% discount to the company’s 30‑day volume‑weighted average share price, with the company now choosing the cash option and recording a combined early‑settlement interest saving of A$300,000, equivalent to 27% of the total interest that would have been payable.
“We’re pleased today to announce the cash settlement of our media partnership notes with oOh!media and ARN,” said Airtasker CEO Tim Fung.
Airtasker says the oOh!media partnership provided access to more than 30,000 outdoor advertising sites across billboards, street furniture, airports, office towers and retail centres, while the ARN partnership delivered exposure across 58 radio stations and the iHeartRadio platform, supporting a resurgence in brand investment in Australia.
According to YouGov data cited by Airtasker, brand salience rose 38.5% between the September 2024 and March 2026 quarters, and over the same period compound annual growth rates for Australian gross marketplace volume and revenue were 17% and 20% respectively, which the company attributes in part to the media partnerships.
Airtasker says the strategy, which also includes a partnership with Nine Entertainment and sponsorship of the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Formula One team, remains focused on using media partnerships to grow its online marketplace for local services, where more than 5 million tasks have been completed and over A$774 million has been paid to Australian taskers since launch.
At the time of reporting the Airtasker (ASX:ART) share price was AUD 0.22.
