Accelerate Resources (ASX:AX8) has commenced a 1,200-metre maiden reverse circulation drilling programme at its Spencers gold discovery within the Balagundi Gold Project.

The drilling follows up previous shallow aircore results at the prospect located 15km east of Kalgoorlie.

Those historical results included intercepts of 28m at 1.01 grammes per tonne of gold and 8m at 1.42 grammes per tonne of gold.

Recent one-metre resampling within those broader intercepts revealed higher-grade zones of 6m at 1.75 grammes per tonne of gold and seven metres at 1.85 grammes per tonne of gold.

Following the announcement, the Accelerate Resources share price was unchanged at $0.005.

The active 1,200-metre campaign will test a 300-metre-long mineralised trend that remains open along strike and down-dip.

This exploration campaign follows a recent tenure expansion that increased the total Balagundi project area by approximately 80% to 62km2.
