Accelerate Resources (ASX:AX8) commenced aircore drilling at its high-priority Fluffy prospect, marking a milestone for the Balagundi Gold Project.
The campaign represents the first drilling activity at this specific target in over three decades, underscoring the renewed exploration vigour within one of Western Australia’s most prolific gold corridors.
The Fluffy prospect is situated approximately 15km east of Kalgoorlie, placing it in an enviable geological neighbourhood.
It sits proximal to world-class assets, including Northern Star’s +6Moz Kanowna Belle mine and the iconic +70Moz KCGM Super Pit.
The prime location, combined with historic data, makes the site a focal point for the company’s growth strategy.
The current drilling programme aims to follow up on impressive historical intercepts, which recorded grades of up to 45m @ 1.35 g/t Au.
Furthermore, recent exploration efforts have identified high-grade surface rock chips reaching 32.6 g/t Au.
By utilising advanced geophysics and geochemistry, Accelerate Resources has defined several new, previously untested targets sitting beneath shallow cover.
The move to aircore drilling is designed to rapidly test the newly identified positions and refine the understanding of the site's mineralisation.
