1414 Degrees (ASX:14D) agreed to acquire Vast Solar Aurora to secure 100% control of the Aurora Energy Precinct.

The company had continued to lead site development independently after its former joint venture partner entered administration in November 2025.

Executive Chairman Dr Kevin Moriarty said, “Securing full ownership of Aurora gives 1414 Degrees control of a strategically important energy and infrastructure precinct at a time when its commercial potential is becoming increasingly clear.”

The fine print shows the 16-square-kilometre site holds Crown Sponsored development approval alongside a preliminary agreement for up to 1 gigawatt of data centre capacity.

1414 Degrees stated that consolidating site ownership removes former joint venture hurdles to help progress direct commercial financing and infrastructure delivery.

Following the announcement, the 1414 Degrees share price was up at $0.065.

The South Australian renewable energy developer focuses on commercialising silicon-based thermal energy storage technology alongside large-scale grid infrastructure.

The business previously established manufacturing pathways in South Korea and satellite partnerships to expand its proprietary storage hardware footprint globally.
