1414 Degrees (ASX:14D) has issued a purchase order for 5B Maverick systems to power its initial 70 MW solar development covering 42 hectares at the Aurora Energy Precinct near Port Augusta.
The order serves as the primary technology deployment for the company's approved 200-hectare footprint, which compares with traditional layouts by offering higher solar capacity per hectare.
The company indicated that prefabricated solar units will be manufactured at 5B’s Adelaide facility before being transported directly to the precinct for rapid assembly.
The compact equipment configuration enables potential expansion to over 300 MW across the initial footprint, subject to detailed design and regulatory variations.
The initial 70 MW setup forms part of an overarching precinct strategy aiming for approximately 2 GW of total solar capacity.
Following the announcement, the 1414 Degrees share price was unchanged at $0.033.
The Aurora Energy Precinct aims to pair large-scale solar generation with battery storage to supply electricity to the grid and nearby data centres.
The company previously consolidated full ownership of the Aurora project footprint to support its long-term energy generation and storage ambitions.
