The company has a portfolio of tenements in proven petroleum provinces including the Cooper, Otway, Galilee, and Bonaparte basins. Vintage Energy's objective is to identify new resources and develop them in a sustainable manner to generate strong returns for investors. The company's current operations include the Vali and Odin gas fields in the Cooper Basin. Vali commenced production in February 2023 and is supplying gas to eastern Australia through a gas sales agreement with AGL Energy.

- Otway Basin: spanning 500km across onshore and offshore regions in South Australia, Victoria, and Tasmania, hosts significant energy projects.
- Cooper/Eromanga Basins: the primary onshore oil and gas producers in Australia, feature the Cooper Basin with up to 2,500m of sediment comprising sandstones, shales, and coals, and the overlying Eromanga Basin with up to 3,000m of sediment consisting of sandstones, siltstones, and shales.
- Galilee Basin: located in central Queensland spans approximately 247,000 km2 and sits adjacent to the Bowen and Cooper basins. Despite limited exploration, with only 10 deep wells drilled since the 1950s, no economically significant discoveries have been made.
- Bonaparte Basin: situated in the Northern Territory's north, boasts a verified hydrocarbon system. Significant gas reserves have been found offshore, with the undeveloped Petrel, Tern, and Frigate fields totaling 2.7 Tcf of Contingent Resources.
