Australia's Utilities, Farms Face El Niño Risks

The Bureau of Meteorology has declared a "very strong" El Nino, warning it could be the most severe in decades. Fitch Ratings says Australia's utilities and agriculture sectors are among the most exposed, with hotter and drier conditions set to strain water supplies, lift electricity demand, and heighten bushfire risk. Rep. Flood Says Shutdown Is 'Not in America's Interest'

Rep. Mike Flood said House Republicans are prioritizing passage of a continuing resolution to fund the government through the election period, calling it essential to avoid a shutdown.
