  • Brookfield shares were up 0.95% at $48.40 in premarket trading after the announcement.
  • Brookfield said the combination expands its credit products and strengthens its ability to invest across different market cycles.

Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE:BAM) completed its Oaktree acquisition, combining both credit platforms into a $365 billion global franchise.

The completion follows Brookfield’s October 2025 agreement to acquire Oaktree’s remaining 26% interest for approximately $3 billion.

“We look forward to building on their strong track record and deep expertise,” said Brookfield Asset Management CEO Connor Teskey.

Howard Marks and Bruce Karsh will co-chair Oaktree, while the United States now generates nearly half of Brookfield’s revenue.

Following the announcement, Brookfield Asset Management's share price was up 0.95% at $48.40 in premarket trading.

Brookfield said the platform now covers opportunistic, real asset, asset-backed and performing corporate credit for institutional and individual clients.

Brookfield manages more than $1 trillion across infrastructure, energy, private equity, real estate and credit in over 30 countries.
