American Battery Technology Company (NASDAQ:ABAT) received U.S. Department of Commerce approval to export up to $100 million of recycled black mass under specified terms following new federal export controls for critical battery materials.

The approval provides export authorization for potential sales but does not represent a completed transaction, while the company reported revenue growth of more than 400% year over year in fiscal 2026.

The company’s commercial-scale recycling facility near Reno, Nevada, began operations in 2023 and processes end-of-life batteries and manufacturing scrap into recovered materials including copper, aluminum, steel, lithium-rich intermediates and black mass.

Black mass produced through battery recycling contains minerals that can be further refined and returned to the supply chain for manufacturing new products, including battery materials.

American Battery Technology Company continues developing recycling operations focused on recovering materials from used batteries and battery manufacturing waste.
