Sophon sets November deadline for mainnet shutdown
- Sophon plans to close its mainnet on 30 November 2026, ending its standalone blockchain operations.
- Users must withdraw their assets by 25 November, ahead of the closure of key infrastructure and websites.
- The project is shifting its focus towards consumer finance and artificial intelligence applications on Base.
Sophon has set 30 November 2026 for its mainnet shutdown, giving users until 25 November to withdraw their assets.
The closure follows a strategic shift away from operating a standalone blockchain towards building consumer finance and artificial intelligence applications on Base.
Users must complete withdrawals before infrastructure and related websites begin closing on 25 November, according to the announced timeline.
The deadline covers assets including Sophon (SOPH), Ether (ETH) and USD Coin (USDC), alongside other tokens held on the network.
Users can also withdraw staking rewards, Guardian rewards and unclaimed Sophon Farm assets before the shutdown deadline.
Sophon previously operated as an Ethereum layer-2 network supporting consumer applications, including gaming and entertainment.
Sophon’s developers said the costs of maintaining a standalone blockchain no longer justified continuing its independent operations.
The shutdown makes the November withdrawal deadline a key milestone for users holding assets on Sophon Chain.
