Blockstream launched its swaps service in beta after Boltz suspended operations on 3 August.

Boltz said its suspension followed months of automated, AI-assisted probing and several contained exploits.

“Attackers now iterate faster than a team our size can find and patch,” Boltz said.

Blockstream said its swaps service was already in development before the shutdown and supports Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC), Lightning and Liquid.

Blockstream said the service is being tested with selected participants, while organisations can request beta access.

The shutdown also affected Bull Bitcoin, Aqua and ZEUS, which relied on Boltz’s swap infrastructure.

Blockstream said its service aims to add another swap provider without requiring users to give custody of their bitcoin to an intermediary.
