Fidelity Investments has filed to add Ethereum staking to its US$898 million Fidelity Ethereum Fund, known as FETH.
The filing would allow the fund to stake Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH) and potentially earn staking rewards from its holdings.
The proposal comes as more asset managers seek ways to expand crypto investment products beyond simple asset exposure.
Fidelity’s filing adds to a broader industry push to include staking features in Ethereum investment funds.
The company said the proposal would allow the fund to participate in Ethereum’s proof-of-stake network through staking activities.
FETH is one of the larger spot Ethereum investment funds in the United States, with about US$898 million in assets.
The filing is subject to regulatory approval and forms part of the wider debate over staking in US crypto investment products.
