Coinbase Global Inc (NASDAQ:COIN) has received CFTC approval for its Coinbase Clearing LLC derivatives clearinghouse.

The approval completes Coinbase’s US-regulated derivatives platform, spanning brokerage, exchange and clearing operations.

“Today’s CFTC approval completes Coinbase’s end-to-end derivatives infrastructure, enabling us to bring more regulated derivatives products to market with native USDC collateral and 24/7 settlement,” Coinbase General Counsel Molly Abraham said in a statement.

Coinbase Clearing will let the company create and settle fully collateralised contracts directly.

The clearinghouse will use USDC collateral and provide 24/7 settlement, according to Coinbase.

Coinbase already operates Coinbase Financial Markets as its futures commission merchant and Coinbase Derivatives as its designated contract market.

The company said the new clearing capability could support faster product development and additional regulated derivatives products.

Following the announcement, Coinbase shares were down 1.70% at $191.79.
