  • Coinbase and Stablecore have partnered to connect crypto services with more than 3,000 US banks and credit unions.
  • Banks can offer custody, trading, staking and stablecoin payments through their existing banking systems.
  • Amarillo National Bank has started the rollout, while each institution will choose which services to offer.

Coinbase has partnered with Stablecore to bring digital-asset services into existing US banking systems.

Stablecore has integrations with more than 3,000 US banks and credit unions.

“Community banks and credit unions shouldn’t have to choose between staying local and staying current,” said Alec Lovett, Head of Infrastructure Business at Coinbase.

The partnership will let participating banks offer crypto custody, trading, staking and stablecoin payments.

Stablecore will connect the services with existing banking technology, while Coinbase will provide the crypto infrastructure.

Amarillo National Bank in Texas has started implementing the technology, although deployment numbers remain undisclosed.

The partnership has expanded Coinbase’s community banking strategy, with each bank deciding which crypto services it will offer.
