Mining giant BHP (ASX:BHP) published a market disclosure confirming it regularly evaluates structural options across its assets following recent media reports about potential partnership agreements in Western Australia.

The update comes after market speculation suggested the company was considering joint venture structures for selected parts of its primary mining operations.

The business noted that Western Australia Iron Ore remains central to its overarching portfolio.

Management added that the group regularly reviews strategic options to ensure maximum financial productivity across its key operational sites.

Following the announcement, the BHP share price was down at $62.25.

The division operates an interconnected network of four processing hubs and five open-cut operational mines across the northern Pilbara region.

The primary mining centres rely on more than 1,000km of dedicated rail infrastructure and two port facilities to transport raw materials to global export customers.
