
BHP books US$9.8B in annual profit
- BHP (ASX:BHP) posted an attributable profit of US$9.8 billion for the financial year ending June 30, 2026.
- The mining giant declared a final dividend of 99 US cents per share alongside the results.

BHP (ASX:BHP) reported an attributable profit of US$9.8 billion for the year ended June 30, alongside a final dividend of 99 US cents per share.
This financial outcome compared against an attributable profit of US$9 billion recorded in the previous financial year.
Revenue for the period stood at US$58.8 billion, up from $51.3 billion a year earlier. Profit from operations grew to US$23.9 billion from US$19.5 billion.
BHP’s portfolio of tier one assets generated around US$22 billion. of net operating cash flow. The company said it remains on track to achieve its target to reduce our operational GHG emissions by at least 30% from FY20 levels by FY30.
“We delivered record iron ore production and shipments at WAIO, ~2 Mt of copper for a second year running, and a stronger result in coal. We met or beat guidance across much of the portfolio and achieved industry-leading cost positions,” said BHP CEO Mike Henry.
Net debt decreased to below US21.8 billion for the period.
Following the announcement, the BHP share price was up at $62.20.
BHP declared a final fully franked dividend of 99 US cents per share. BHP determined a final dividend of US$5 billion. This brings total cash returns to shareholders announced for the year to US$8.7 billion, which is US$1.72 per share fully franked, the highest in four years.
The business maintained record iron ore output and generated approximately 2 million tonnes of copper production for a second consecutive year.
Capital and exploration expenditure guidance remains unchanged at
US$11 billion in FY27 and is now expected to be ~US$11 billion in FY28 and on average each year between FY29 and FY31.
