Kirby is a domestic tank barge operator and industrial distribution company in the United States. The company operates in two main segments: Marine Transportation and Distribution and Services. Through its Marine Transportation segment, Kirby transports bulk liquid cargoes, including petrochemicals, black oil, refined petroleum products, and agricultural chemicals, across the Mississippi River System, the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, and all three United States coasts. Through its Distribution and Services segment, Kirby provides aftermarket service and parts for diesel engines, transmissions, reduction gears, and related industrial equipment, while also manufacturing oilfield service equipment, power generation systems, and specialized electrical distribution equipment.

- Oilfield Equipment and Services: Manufactures, remanufactures, and services specialized oilfield equipment including pressure pumping units, electric fracturing systems, and pumps, alongside distributing diesel engines, transmissions, and parts to oil and gas market operators.
- Power Generation and Electrical Systems: Manufactures electric power generation equipment, specialized electrical distribution and control equipment, and high-capacity energy storage battery systems for data centers, industrial operations, oilfield service, and railroad customers.
- Industrial Equipment Rental and Sales: Rents and sells industrial equipment including mobile power generators, air compressors, high-capacity lift trucks, refrigeration trailers, and rail car movers to customers across diverse industrial, commercial, and energy markets.
