RTX (NYSE:RTX) announced on Wednesday that its Raytheon ELCAN business has been awarded a production contract to supply the German Armed Forces with a customized version of its Specter® DR 1-4x weapon sight.

The deal is a central component of Germany’s ongoing soldier modernization program, aimed at enhancing the lethality and versatility of its frontline infantry.

The bespoke optical solution integrates an Aimpoint® reflex sight mounted directly onto the primary optic, a configuration designed to allow soldiers to transition seamlessly between close-quarters combat and mid-range precision engagement.

This award follows a period of rapid expansion for the Specter platform in Europe; since August 2024, cumulative orders from Germany, Denmark, Lithuania, Spain, Italy, and Finland have surpassed 100,000 units.

The total value of these collective European contracts now exceeds €193 million ($204 million), reflecting a significant surge in regional defense procurement.

The German contract, executed in coordination with Leonardo Germany, highlights the growing demand for "plug-and-play" optical systems that can be tailored to specific national operational requirements, including custom reticles and specialized laser protection.

The contract comes amid a broader push by Berlin to modernize its military hardware.

RTX has been a primary beneficiary of this trend; earlier this year, the company secured a $1.2 billion agreement to provide additional Patriot missile defense systems to Germany.
