Parsons (NYSE:PSN) has been awarded a $593 million contract extension by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to continue its decades-long role in modernizing the National Airspace System (NAS).

The award exercises the first option period under the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (TSSC 5), a vehicle with a $1.8 billion ceiling that now extends Parsons’ performance through 2030.

Under the agreement, Parsons will provide a sweeping range of services—including program management, engineering, and construction management—to upgrade air traffic control facilities, radar systems, and communication networks across the United States.

The extension arrives as the FAA accelerates its "Project LIFT" initiative, a multi-year capital investment plan aimed at replacing aging copper-wire telecommunications with fiber-optics and transitioning legacy analog voice systems to secure Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology.

Parsons will be responsible for managing these upgrades at more than 600 geographically dispersed sites, ensuring that new technologies are integrated without disrupting the daily flow of 45,000 flights.

The FAA's reliance on Parsons is rooted in a partnership that began in 2001.

The company has served as the prime contractor for three consecutive iterations of the TSSC program, maintaining a workforce of over 450 dedicated employees and 300 subcontractors for the agency.

The contract win reinforces Parsons’ dominant position in the federal infrastructure market.
