Gogo (NASDAQ:GOGO) said it has completed flight testing and validation of its next-generation 5G air-to-ground broadband network, clearing a key milestone ahead of commercial deployment early next year.
The company said the testing program included more than 30 hours of flight time across nearly 20 routes.
During the trials, the network delivered sustained broadband speeds exceeding 80 megabits per second for downloads and more than 20 megabits per second for uploads, enabling simultaneous video streaming and web browsing onboard.
Gogo said it has already onboarded its first paying customer for the new 5G ATG service and has 450 aircraft pre-provisioned and ready for entry into service in January 2026.
To support the rollout, the company has secured 33 supplemental type certificates (STCs) covering aircraft types operating within the continental United States, unlocking a potential market of more than 7,500 aircraft.
Gogo said 28 STCs have been completed, with the remaining five expected to be finalized by the end of the year.
The next-generation 5G ATG network is central to Gogo’s strategy to upgrade in-flight connectivity for business aviation customers, as demand grows for faster, more reliable broadband in the air.
