Elbit Systems (NASDAQ:ESLT) has been awarded a $228 million follow-on contract to supply its Iron Fist active protection system (APS) for the U.S. Army’s Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles, according to a company statement on Monday.

The three-year deal, awarded by General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), marks the third time the U.S. Army has selected the Iron Fist technology for its armored fleet upgrades.

The system is designed as a "hard-kill" solution, utilizing a compact, 360-degree radar and interceptor suite to neutralize incoming threats—including anti-tank missiles, rocket-propelled grenades, and loitering munitions—before they impact the vehicle.

"Our globally recognized Active Protection System continues to demonstrate its technological edge," said Bezhalel Machlis, President and CEO of Elbit Systems.

The award follows a series of successful live-fire trials, including a 2025 demonstration where the system intercepted kinetic-energy tank rounds, a particularly challenging feat in the defense sector.

The contract comes as Elbit reports a period of significant growth driven by heightened global defense spending.

In its most recent financial disclosure for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2025, the Haifa-based firm reported revenues of $1.92 billion and a record order backlog of $25.2 billion.

The company, which employs approximately 20,000 people globally, has seen its Land division revenues surge by 41% year-over-year, largely due to increased demand for munitions and armored protection systems in Israel and Europe.
