Accenture (NYSE:ACN) has officially closed its acquisition of Faculty, a premier UK-based artificial intelligence company recognized for its expertise in AI safety and large-scale implementation.

The deal, initially announced in early January 2026, marks a major milestone in Accenture’s "reinvention" strategy as it looks to solidify its position as a global leader in sovereign and safe AI solutions.

In a rare move for an acquisition of this scale, Faculty CEO and co-founder Dr. Marc Warner has been appointed as the Chief Technology Officer of Accenture.

Warner, a former quantum physics researcher at Harvard and a prominent advisor to the UK government, will also join the company’s Global Management Committee.

In his new role, he will oversee Accenture’s overarching technology strategy and lead the effort to attract top-tier AI talent to the firm’s 800,000-strong workforce.

The acquisition brings more than 400 "AI-native" professionals—including a high concentration of PhD-level data scientists and engineers—into Accenture’s fold.

This influx of talent is specifically aimed at helping clients transition from experimental AI pilots to mission-critical business processes.

Faculty is well-regarded for its work on the UK National Health Service (NHS) Early Warning System during the COVID-19 pandemic, a high-stakes deployment that accurately predicted hospital demand.

Central to the merger is the integration of Frontier™, Faculty’s enterprise decision intelligence product.

Frontier™ will join Accenture’s software suite, enabling organizations to connect disparate data and AI models into a unified system for faster decision-making.

The two firms have already demonstrated the platform's efficacy through a collaborative project with Novartis, which aimed to transform the logistics and economic modeling of clinical trials.

Jhile financial terms were not disclosed, reports at the time of the initial announcement suggested the deal valued Faculty at over $1 billion, cementing its status as a UK tech "unicorn."
