Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ:BTDR), a global leader in advanced computing and blockchain infrastructure, announced today that its subsidiary, Tydal Data Center AS (TDC), has officially engaged Data Center Installations AS (DCI) to develop a state-of-the-art 180 MW artificial intelligence data center in Tydal, Norway.
The facility is designed to be the largest operational AI data center in Norway and among the most significant in Europe by installed capacity.
The project is a strategic pivot for Bitdeer, converting an existing industrial footprint into a high-density facility specifically engineered for co-location services.
Most notably, the data center will be built according to the NVIDIA Vera Rubin reference design, optimized for the latest generative AI and large-scale reasoning workloads.
This architecture is designed to maximize "tokens per watt," ensuring that the facility remains at the cutting edge of energy efficiency and computational throughput.
Construction and conversion are already underway, with a targeted completion date of December 2026.
DCI, a specialized Norwegian contractor with a history of delivering critical infrastructure for leading regional operators, will oversee the design and execution.
The project will feature specialized power trains and high-density cooling systems required to support NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin NVL72 and NVL144 liquid-cooled rack systems.
