Global toll road operator Atlas Arteria (ASX:ALX) has announced that the French Parliament adopted the Finance Law for 2026 on Feb. 2.
The legislation extends the temporary supplemental tax, a measure originally introduced in 2025 that was initially expected to be a one-year levy.
The tax will continue to be assessed based on revenues from both the current and prior years.
Under the new law, Atlas Arteria is required to make a substantial 98% installment of the anticipated tax amount in December, with the remaining balance due in May 2027.
The law is expected to be formally enacted within the coming weeks following a final review by the French Constitutional Council and the signature of the President.
Despite the additional tax burden, Atlas Arteria has reaffirmed its 2025 distribution guidance of 40 cents per stapled security.
The company also stated it remains committed to targeting future distributions of at least 40 cents per security.
At the time of reporting, Atlas Arteria's share price was $4.81.
