Monad Foundation has hired three senior executives from Optimism Foundation, FalconX and BVNK to drive institutional adoption following its November mainnet launch.

Urvit Goel joins as vice president of go-to-market, Joanita Titan becomes head of institutional growth and Sagar Sarbhai takes the role of head of institutions for Asia-Pacific, bringing experience across JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, Anchorage Digital, Fireblocks and Amazon.

The foundation said the hires will focus on capital markets strategy, brand development and expanding institutional adoption across Asia-Pacific jurisdictions including Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and South Korea.

Monad launched its public mainnet in November alongside a token sale on Coinbase and has since reached about $450 million in stablecoin market capitalisation and more than $200 million in total value locked across DeFi protocols.

The network claims throughput of up to 10,000 transactions per second with sub-second finality while remaining Ethereum Virtual Machine compatible, targeting use cases such as high-frequency trading and payments.

In 2024, Monad Labs raised $225 million in a funding round led by Paradigm, with the foundation now overseeing ecosystem growth as newer layer-1 networks face slowing launch momentum and steep token declines.

Recent performance data shows tokens such as ZetaChain’s ZETA and Berachain’s BERA down roughly 98% and 95% from all-time highs respectively, while Monad’s MON trades about 52% below its peak, underscoring investor caution toward the latest wave of layer-1 blockchains.

At the time of reporting, Monad price was $0.02165.
