Meta has launched Muse Spark, a new AI model designed to deliver “personal superintelligence” through its Meta AI assistant across its apps and platforms.

The model introduces a “Contemplating” mode that runs multiple AI agents in parallel to solve complex problems, positioning it as a competitor to models from OpenAI and Google.

Meta said Muse Spark is “small and fast by design, yet capable enough to reason through complex questions in science, math, and health.”

The system is natively multimodal, allowing it to process text and images, call tools, and coordinate sub-agents to complete tasks such as financial modelling or troubleshooting.

A key focus is healthcare, with Meta saying it worked with more than 1,000 physicians to improve the model’s medical reasoning capabilities.

The launch follows a broader push led by Mark Zuckerberg to rebuild Meta’s AI stack and compete with leading AI providers after lagging in recent years.

While the move has boosted investor sentiment, with Meta shares rising on the announcement, analysts warn that expanding into health-related AI services could attract regulatory scrutiny around data privacy and medical advice.
